Priorities
Where Dr. Pendleton will focus first
Fiscal accountability.
Reading and math proficiency.
Implement every recommendation from the Plante Moran audit, including monthly budget reporting and an independent CFO with real authority.
Push evidence-based curriculum and early intervention so every child reaches grade level.
Protect classrooms first.
Equity.
Administrative overhead, not teachers and student support staff, should absorb budget cuts.
Evaluate every major decision by who it affects most, especially the district's most vulnerable students.
Restore public trust.
Plain-language communication and accessible board meetings so families and taxpayers understand how decisions are made.
